Valerie E. Goodman, DO, is an osteopathic family physician at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health Centreville Family Practice and holds a staff position at the Shore Health Express Care Emergency Room in Centreville. In addition, Dr. Goodman is an associate medical director at Hospice of Queen Anne’s in Centreville.

As an advocate for rural health care, Dr. Goodman was featured in a Kaiser Health News video segment in March 2012 where she discussed osteopathic medicine’s role in the delivery of primary care to rural communities. She has also spoken in her community about medical topics such as preventive medicine, well child and adult medical examinations, diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension.

Aside from her membership in the American Osteopathic Association, Dr. Goodman is also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Maryland Association of Osteopathic Physicians.

Dr. Goodman graduated from what is now known as the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury and completed her residency in family medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Philadelphia where she served as chief resident.
