William R. Morrone, DO, is assistant director of family medicine at Synergy Medical Education Alliance in Saginaw, Mich. He also is medical director at Hospice of Michigan in Saginaw and a deputy medical examiner for the Bay County Health Department in Michigan. In addition, Dr. Morrone is an adjunct faculty member at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) in East Lansing.
His background as a toxicologist and medical examiner has generated national media interest, including being interviewed as an expert for stories related to Anna Nicole Smith’s death. Dr. Morrone has appeared in more than 100 interviews on national television, including CNN, MSNBC and Fox News, giving medical opinions on everything from child care to alcohol abuse. He also has been interviewed by a dozen national radio stations and newspapers, including the Miami Herald.
In addition, Dr. Morrone is an active addiction educator and social advocate in pain management. He has presented information about these topics to various state medical societies. Dr. Morrone also treats addiction as a consulting liaison to Wolverine Human Services in Vassar, Mich., and Buena Vista, Mich.
Dr. Morrone received his osteopathic medical degree from MSUCOM. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Mich., and his residency in family medicine at Michigan State University’s Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City, Mich. In addition, he completed a fellowship in faculty development at Michigan State University.
